Red nylon fabric
We chose to use red-nylon ripstop fabric as the main material of our parachute. We chose to use this material as it is quite resistant, wich makes it capable of resisting to the force during the descent of the can. We chose a red fluorescent color as it can be seen from a long distance.
Fishing line ??
With the great counseling of the best NSI teacher in our school, mr Metzler, we’re using fishing line to connect our parachute to the can. Martin added 4 holes so that the threads could fit inside the can and at the same time keeping the size of the can in the norms
Does it work ?
Following the tests on saturday 29 March, we realized that our parachute was too fast (approximatly 10 m/s). We are now working on a better version of the parachute that will fall to 11 m/s
